Welcome to Margo and Plum
Welcome to Margo & Plum
With the recent launch of our website we thought a blog would be a great platform alongside our social media to share behind the scenes and our plans and hopes for us as a business, whilst keeping you up to date with the latest and greatest in decorative pieces for your home.
As a small but growing team here, we all bring our own unique passion in the world of interiors to Margo & Plum.
We plan to have monthly blogs covering all aspects of interior design and share with you the things that inspire us which in turn we hope will inspire you all too.
We are situated at the Engine Yard which is in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir set at the foot of Belvoir Castle (which you may recognise from the recent Netflix series The Crown), with stunning views over the Leicestershire countryside which in itself never fails to inspire us! We hope all our followers do get the opportunity to visit us here, but if you can’t we like to think we have captured the essence of what we have to share with you on our website and social media platforms.
What is inspiring us for 2020?
We are embracing strong and vibrant accent colours – think ‘out of the box’ colourful style, also warm earth tones, sand, ochre, terracotta and burnt gold.
Metallics remain a firm favourite with us – anything from gleaming gold, burnished brass and bronze, especially for any metal accents on furniture, lighting or even soft furnishings.
We love eclectic glamour – a confident and sassy take on the glamour trend. Think 1930’s sophisticated elegance and add a little sexy 1970’s style opulence thrown in. Channel the shapley curves and fluid shapes of velvet chairs and sofas in bold colours, along with statement sideboards, cocktail trolleys and bar tables in burnished golds.
Live greenery throughout the house – anything from big and bold statement palms to small and stylish trailing plants – these pots of vibrant green bring life and colour to your home. Research also shows that bringing green into your home, whether it be through decor or plant foliage boosts our happiness levels, and who wouldn’t want their home filled with happiness?
We are loving all of the above trends here – we hope that you share our passion with the same enthusiasm and enjoy creating endless new possibilities for your homes and interiors.
Do follow us on Facebook and Instagram for weekly inspiration updates – we look forward to seeing you soon!
With love the Margo & Plum team X
